The new 2413U computer interface is a DUAL BAND USB powerline modem (PLM) designed for controlling Insteont and X10 products using compatible automation software running 24/7 on a PC or Mac. As a dual band product, it supports both wired and wireless communications and acts as an access point.

Updated features compared with 2412U interface:

Built-in Dual-Band with RF function, acts like an Access Point for phase bridging and RF to/from power line
1023 links (compared to around 800 links previously)
Added a beep sounder
Red/Green LED light
Supports faster reading and writing of the PLM's database by another controller
Much lighter weight
No pass-through outlet
