After reading and rereading everything I am a little confused - can a usbuirt trigger a macro from an IR remote?
Example - Harmony remote sending a trigger for a macro in mControl? thanks! John |

Yes, you can use a USB-UIRT to receive a IR command. If you have a written a macro to trigger upon a match to a previously taught IR message, then it will execute the actions within that macro.
The basic steps to do this are outlined in pages 221-227 of the mControl User Manual. Ted |

I am unable to get mControl to learn an IR command. I have installed the 1.4 drivers for the usb-uirt, and it now shows as a adapter in the IR area.
I enabled it in the xml file. When I click on the "learn" button I get the count down - the light flashes on the usb-uirt but I don't get any code written in the code field. I am running Version: 2.0.0.6 Build: 2811 on an XP system. Any thougths on what I have missed? Thanks! John |

The teaching remote should be within 2" in front of the UUIRT learner. Also, you should press the remote's button for about 2 - 3 seconds to learn it successfully.
Note: some customers had difficultuy teaching the UUIRT using the Harmony remote. See related posts in this forum. |
