This gateway seems to be a replacement of mcontrol, why would you want to integrate it?

I agree. The reason I asked is becuase my Windows Home SErver is running virtualized under Hyper-V, and there is no USB support for VirtualMachines.

MiCasaVerde cost around $300 bucks!! A license for USB over IP from KernelPro cost $90. Plus $30 for the USB ZWave stick, the cost is $120, thats a difference of $180 bucks. (I am already using USBOverIP with my Hyper-V for virtualizing USB TV Tuners and feed them to a Virtual Windows Media Center PC, so I am familiar with KernelPro and if works just as well as with the TV Tuners, I am sure that the Z-Wave stick will not be a problem for it) Plus, I kinda use the rule: "When in doubt, always choose virtualization before more hardware". |
