Please note that this only applies if your mControl install is on the same machine as your Media Center. You didn't indicate whether or not this is the case. If it is on another machine, make sure to use the IP address of that machine.

That is strange. I am running mControl on my WHS. All of my machines have the registry entry this way. I don't want to confuse anyone. If it doesn't work with this change, change it back.

Sure enough, MikeJ, you're right. Mine shows http://localhost:29990 as well. That indicates to me that it isn't used. To test, I changed mine to the IP address of my WHS box and it had no effect.

Try looking at the text files in C:\Program Files (x86)\Embedded Automation\mControl\logs to see if there are any errors.

I'm not sure if you intended this for me. I'm just peachy.

No. I was just putting it out to everyone else. I can see in the logs how it locates the server through the whs ip address and port. If it isn't connecting for anyone, maybe it will show where it is looking for the server at in the logs.

Default MSAS sink

I am up and running on Win7 x64.
Actually I was up and running before opening the ports just by running the 2 installers in order and then opening MCE as Admin.

BUT - I cannot get the msas sink to fire macros. So I tinkered with the ports as described in this thread but cannot get it to work. I checked the log file on the Win7 machine but it does not record the msas events (play, pause etc)

So my question is does this functionality work yet in x64? I know that a little over a year ago it did not work in Vista x64. And I could not find mention since that it is now working. But yet the latest beta and the previous release mention x64 support?

My HTPC box has an VFD in it that displays info from the msas sink and that is working fine and displaying all events in Win7 x64...

s4home,

Your link doesn't work... it just takes me to the EA home page. Where did you get the working file?
