Introducing the mRemote forum

We've created this thread to discuss the mRemote feature of mControl v3.

The mRemote functionality within mControl provides remote control functionality of devices - and is particularly suited to control AV and consumer electronic equipment.

mRemote devices can be controlled by IR or serial/TCP/HTTP commands. To utilize mRemote, do the following:
1. If the device is to be controlled via IR, create/learn the IR commands for the device
2. Use the Module Maker tab to construct the command set for the device
3. Add the device into your mControl system, referencing the module command set
4. To control the device, you can either:
>> Use the detailed view from the defined device (available within the mControl Editor and mControl Mobile Client)
>> Or to access multiple devices, use the mRemote tab, to access a set of remotes for each defined device (available within the mControl Editor)

The mControl v3 App for iPad/iPhone does not currently support mRemote functionality, but we expect to add this in the next revision.

That was fast. I am going to be using the GC-100 and vmccontroller. I will post some screenshots, questions and comments. Further, I hope to share my remote config files to better the community and help speed up installation times.

I have worked on Pronto, Crestron, AMX, and Nevo, but I am very excited for the mControl solution. Nevo was great, and will be sorely missed.

I am getting some traction on this project. My GC-100 is in place and I am sending commands via TCP/IP. Now that I have a working unit, I am getting going with mControl.

Hi I assume this is for V3 which is great and I am looking forward to it. However, has anyone done any work on the Denon InCommand (AVR-3312, 4312,etc) series yet? Denon works great on AirPlay, but I need to switch to Win7 MCE for non-Music apps and want to control via iPad mControl App as well.. Is this all possible? If so is someone creating an mRemote driver?
