Default Will this Z-wave doorbell work with mControl?

Hi

What are the chances of this Everspring UTSE03A-Z-Wave Door Bell Set working with mControl? When the button is pressed I would like to trigger a macro in mControl on the WHS.

Thanks.

Default Save your cash!

Hi CW-Kid,

Hope your well and rember me? saw your post and am glad to be able to help you for a chnage :-)

I have this doorbell and have been in long negotiations with MCV and Everspring for over 4 months - do a search on the Micaseverde Forum for me and the door bell and you will see all details.

In short it is zwave but only operates its own network - not possible to add to any other network or operate as you would expect to be able to - total madness, who would make one of these things - especialy when they are realy wanted by the market - and then make it as its own network only! surly making a button and a bell to add as devices to a zwave network would be simple when thinking of all the tings we can do and do actulay do with zwave - but no apprently it makes more sence to market a device that is 120+ quicd and make it work just like a £5 device form the market but vie zwave technolagey.

crazy as realy want a ncie looking non roll your own doorbel :-(

I am sure I will manage to get this resolved as am working toward a firmward update with everspring and driver with MCV so once done I will update you.

in the m,ean time if you find a door bell that works please let me know :-)

Take care.

Hi there

Many thanks for the heads up! I did look on the Vera forums and did see a thread about this door bell the up shot of that thread was it wasn't working properly with Vera. Actually thinking about buying a VeraLite if I don't upgrade to mControl V3?

I have a contact at Everspring in China (http://www.ctc-chromagic.com) as I was going to buy some of these door bells and some other Z-wave devices from them directly as sample units. If you need her contact details happy to pass along but sounds like you are on the case, do you think a firmware update is likely? If what you say is true I can't believe the door bell doesn't work properly with other Z-wave networks / devices. Does seem crazy!

Cheers

Did you buy it from Z-wave products? When I was looking no one in the UK sold them which is why I contacted the manufacturer. Since then Z-wave products now have it listed but its 150 quid. The guy at Z-wave products says they have not tested these doorbells either, they use HomeSeer apparently.

Hi CW-Kid,

sory for delay - need to sort an email alert when somone posts a reply (not sure if i can set this up here?)

So yes I did by from Ant. at UK automation - link you posted. Have emailed him to let him know what I am doing but has not seemed to interested?...

And yes - 150 quid is crazy when it does not work as one would expect - realy makes no sence at all but since there is no other similar product i felt my efforts worth while.

I will update and here on vera forum when i get news - if you have a contact however i would definatly start a similar process - more "noise" from more angles can only support a positive outcome. I truly am working toward getting a firmware update but time scale wise.... how long is a piece of string - I chase weekly and have been for nearly 4 months - all I can do is keep trying i suppose.

Go for a vera 3 not light as light has no wireless capability. upgrading to vera with mcontrol from a aeon labs zstick has transformed my system for the better.

Regards,
- Lights_On

Yes you can setup alerts on this forum i get them
Emailed to me.

I will pm you the contact details I have for Everspring China.

If Veralite has no wifi what difference will it make?
I have Bt Home hub wifi in the house already and veralite would be connected to the gigabit switch.

These door bells are about 30 dollars from the manufacturer, don't mean to upset you!

HI CW-Kid,

cracking - will go and set up email alerts - figured it would be possible just never looked.

I like Vera 3 as its wireless and although wall switches should work as repeaters having the vera unit in the middle of the house helped my sensors respond far better - could not do this is not wireless so i guess its a personal preferance thing.

30 bucks! i was had :-( hey ho live and learn.

thnaks for the link - looks like great progress - if we can help Fraisier get the push button workign it looks like problem solved - still cant belive Everspring would not get a developer on this for a few hours...

Many thnaks.
