Hi there, I have a substantial amount of Homeseer software and hardware, mainly based around RFXCOM and HomeEasy.
I was wondering if anyone was looking at some sort of connector from mControl to HomeSeer as the MCE interface in mControl is miles ahead of anything HomeSeer offer .. or will every offer I would guess.

Any ideas?
Or if Not HomeSeer , what about just the lighting elements of HomeEasy ?

Cheers

laserchris,

Either way, via Homeseer or direct to HomeEasy, a driver will be required. As mentioned in another post, we will be providing a new project, which will allow for easier/quicker driver writing - either by you, other developers or by us. Are you a developer? If not, do you have information on the HomeEasy interface?

I would love to see Homeasy range supported and will be watching this with interest:)

I am not a developer, but would give it a go. Problem we have in the UK is that Z-Wave has still not been released.. we have been waiting a long time. This means that other technologies have been used instead. the Homeeasy stuff is cheap but very good.. its RF based.

laserchris,

There are several ways to do this:
(a) Use the Generic (Simple) Driver - no programming required, just enter commands within an XML file. This is for 1-way interaction - from mControl to the Adapter.
(b) We will soon (in a few days), be providing a simplified serial (or IP) driver sample code. Though this is not as complete as writing a native mControl driver, this will be sufficient to get a two-way communication protocol working.
(c) Write a "native" mControl driver. Once you do a native implementation, the interface would be supported just like INSTEON, Z-Wave, DSC, etc., including the detail pages for complex modules.

Could you not build a driver for Xpl (http://wiki.xplproject.org.uk/index.php/Main_Page) this would allow two way communications with a large number of HA systems for minimal development.
