I just purchased the mControl software with the Intermatic Z-Wave USB adapter. I have a few questions about the setup. I have a Windows Home Server and a Windows Vista Ultimate MCE PC. I assume from browsing the user manual pdf that the Z wave USB adapter has to be plugged into the media center PC. I was wondering how you would go about configuring the Zones/Macros on the MCE PC and having them be seen on the WHS so I can control the Z-Wave devices from a PC away from home via the WHS website.

Also i have multiple MCE PCs and I was wondering how you would set them up as clients only without having the mControl service running on them and how they would get the setup/macros from the main MCE PC.

Thanks

I have the same setup as you.

I have the zwave controller attached to the WHS machine.

Mcontrol is installed and configured on the WHS machine, and the MCE addin is installed on the MCE machine.

So all the mControl configuration is done on the WHS box, and the MCE box is just a 'client'.

Hope this helps,

sean.scott, install the MCE clients on the MCE machines then configure them (registry and config files) as mentioned in other threads on this forum.

P.S.: RC Gold release will include a utility to do all these necessary config and registry changes without the need for editing them manually.
