This is such a simple trick but for me solved a big headache. The mControl interface does not work in FireFox or essentially anything other than Internet Explorer (which I understand why) but I did not want to make Internet Explorer my default browser just to fire up mControl's web interface via desktop icon so I created simple shortcut.

Right click and empty area on your desktop,
Hover over "New"
Left click "Shortcut" at very top of the menu just below folder
Copy and Paste the following for "location of the item" box: "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" http://[IP for mControl machine here]:29990/"
Click Next,
Name the shortcut whatever you like
You will have nice new Internet Explore shorcut on your dekstop now and making this essentially a one click operation to get to your mControl from this computer now!

For a nice mControl icon rather than that ugly "e" simply copy the mControl icon (mHome.ico) from the install location (wherever you installed mControl) to your target location (the computer you are making the shortcut on), right click the newly made shortcut, then click "change icon", now just browse to the location you stored the icon at.

Pretty eh? Now you have a quick route to your mControl, I have several computers throughout my house so a major advantage for me is that mControl can be controlled form any machine now!

You can use Firefox to control mControl.
The trick is to save a bookmark for your system. When you go to open or launch the bookmark, "Right Click" the bookmark and select "Open in IE tab". This get mControl working in Firefox.
I use a laptop 24/7 to run mControl and I connect to it from my main computer system using the remote access address:
http://LaptopsIPaddress:29990/default.aspx
That works for me.

I use the Firefox addin, "IE tab (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1419)" to handle this. It will open an IE instance in your Firefox browser.
