Has anybody successfully integrated VERA with v3?

Basically mControl can send commands back and forth to VERA but does not provide the right feedback for normal operation.

What is happening is the following:

While using the mcontrol editor to control a dimmable light on VERA, I can turn on, off, and even adjust the slider to whatever value i want. The changes take effect on the physical light bulb. But VERA does not seem to get any status update on the device. I verified this on the VERA UI, which shows the zwave device as always OFF!

At first I thought there was bug with VERA, So I reset VERA to factory setting and I setup my zwave network from scratch. Still the same problem.

So then I turned off mcontrol v3 server and I turned on v2 server on another machine, and the problem is not there anymore. Somehow, the communication protocol between V3 and VERA is messing up the operation of VERA and thus status feedback on any device.

btw, the Mobile interface does not work at all because of the above, you can only turn off and brighten to one level (but this is because the mobile interface relies heavily on the current status of a device.

UPDATE: I tried a new thing.

I turn on the light to 100% from VERAs UI. This worked and mcontrol read the status of the light. Then I used mcontrol editor to turn the light down to 50%, the light went to 50% but VERA UI shows it as 0%. I clicked on "poll node" and it still shows it as 0%.

Then I turned off mcontrol server, and clicked "poll node" on the VERA UI, and VERA still could not read the status of the device.

The only way to fix this is to turn on or off the light from the VERA UI, then no matter what level you set it up to(even if you press the switch manually with your hand), VERA picks up the status successfully.

It seems mcontrol is messing up with VERAs operation, which is weird and i did not think possible. any ideas?

I am having lots of issues with Versa and Mcontrol 3. I put in a support request but it did not get answered.
My PLM< will control all the insteon devices fine. The data logging shows all the traffic on the Versa controlling the zwave devices, and the Mcotrol reports the device status, but will not actually make any changes. One or twice I was able to turn off a z wave device through the versa, but never turn the very same device back on.

I have the same issue. A workaround I discovered was to setup a scene in Vera to do what ever you want that device to do. Then use mControl to run the scene. Hope this helps.

UPDATE:

I've upgraded to mControl V3 from V2.1 and now the Vera Luup Driver is working.

I have written a how to guide here (http://thedigitallifestyle.com/w/index.php/2012/10/05/home-automation-with-windows-media-center-mcontrol-v3-integrated-with-veralite/) about integrating mControl with Vera, hope this helps someone and saves you all the hassle I had to go through.

Thanks

Hi cw-kid,

I installed my first Schlage Zwave lock today. Have you tried it with the Vera or Vera Lite? I'm very encouraged that you got the Luup driver working!!

Thanks,
Britt
